This page focuses on promoting wellness in psychology, in looking at the benefits of knowing more about yourself.
The study of psychology refers to the study of the soul or mind. It means looking inside yourself; self-examination
None of us are perfect. It takes a strong person to be able to look at themselves objectively, and try to understand why they do the things they do. By learning more about ourselves, we can figure out what areas of our lives need improvement, and work on making things better.
Sometimes why we do what we do can be difficult to figure out. This is where having a therapist can come in very handy. Therapists are trained to help people in examining themselves. Another way that people can learn more about themselves is by keeping a journal. Writing their thoughts and feelings down, and then reading over what was written can be very insightful.
Ultimately, it is up to you. A therapist will help someone help themselves and no more. You are the only one that can bring about a positive change in yourself.
