How Do You See to be Loved?
A Song About Child Abuse and Neglect

Child abuse and neglect is one of the biggest problems our society faces.  There are reports of it in the papers almost every day, and those are only the stories you hear about.

How Do You See to be Loved is a song I wrote about a personal experience I had while I was working as a Child Protective Services worker.  The girl in this song experienced a very terrible childhood and I felt powerless to help her, so I wrote this song.

(This song and others are featured in the book and compact disc, Utilizing Music as a Coping Skill: Featuring the Music of Freudian Slip)

How Do You See To Be Loved?

Lyrics and Music by Freudian Slip

Lyrics from excerpt:

I'm feeling so worn out...I just can't scream and shout

You're coming home for me...

Whatever did I say...To make you act this way?

I'm your little angel...So why am I cryin?

What would you say if I would tell?

Would you release me from this cell?

You said this would not hurt, would not hurt

But I don't feel wellI said that I don't wanna...

How do you see to be loved?

Wonderful view from above

How does it feel to be loved

I wouldn't know...
