Below you will find a depression test which assesses potential depression. This test is meant for educational purposes ONLY. If you find that your answers are yes to many of these questions, you may want to call your Doctor for proper medical evaluation. This test is only meant to provide some explanation of some of the typical symptoms of depression and is NOT meant to be used as an official diagnostic tool.

1. Do you find yourself feeling sad or down in the dumps a good bit of the time? Is it more than you have felt in the past?

2. Do you feel tired and have no energy?

3. Do you find it difficult to concentrate?

4. Do you have trouble sleeping (either too much or too little)?

5. Do you have trouble eating (either too much or too little)?

6. Do you cry for no reason?

7. Do you have a difficult time enjoying activities that you use to enjoy?

8. Do you feel guilty, even though you are not sure why?

9. Do you feel inadequate as a person?

10. Do you feel that things will go wrong, no matter how hard you try?

If your answers are "yes" to many of these questions, you may wish to talk to your doctor about the possibility of you having depression.

Medications do not always work initially and may need to be changed. Treatment is not an exact science and differs from person to person. During this trial time as an individual tries to find something that will work for them it is important for them not to lose hope or give up on treatment. Hold on, things will get better!
