Miracle directed by Gavin O' Connor Rated PG

Summary: Based on the true story of one of the greatest moments in sports history, the tale captures a time and place where differences could be settled by games and a cold war could be put on ice. In 1980, the United States Ice Hockey team's coach, Herb Brooks, took a young squad of college kids up against the legendary juggernaut from the Soviet Union at the Olympic Games. Despite the long odds, Team USA carried the pride of a nation yearning from a distraction from world events. With the world watching the team rose to the occasion, prompting broadcaster Al Michaels' now famous question, to the millions viewing at home: Do you believe in miracles? Yes!

Application: This is a great movie that can be looked upon for inspiration.  Movies typically consist of much fantasy, but this one is a true story.  I believe this makes it easier for people to relate to, the fact that it actually happened.  The American's overcame incredible odds to win.  I find this movie to be a perfect example of how believing in yourself can get you very far in this world.  This movie also shows how it takes much work to be successful.Issues that are covered in this film include:

-the importance of teamwork

-the importance of committment

-rising to a challenge rather than running away from it
