Bipolar Disease
Does bipolar disease exist? Is Bipolar Disorder (or disease) an actual medical condition that can be passed on genetically? You bet it is.
Many people in our society seem to feel that if you feel sad, you should "get over it", or do something to cheer yourself up. People assume that if you feel sad, you have the ability to make yourself feel better. The fact of the matter is that some people have physiological differences in their body which affects how they feel. No matter how hard they try, they are not able to feel better. Bipolar disease, or bipolar disorder as it is more commonly known, is very real and affects a countless number of people.
It is a shame that our society has such a stigma towards mental illness. If you were to break your leg, would you not seek medical treatment?
If you feel that you may have a mental illness, please seek proper treatment.
Treatment can consist of medication and/or psychotherapy.
Medications do not always work initially and may need to be changed. Treatment is not an exact science and differs from person to person. During this trial time as an individual tries to find something that will work for them it is important for them not to lose hope or give up on treatment. Hold on, things will get better!
